Dec. 12, 2009: Following the much-talked-about release of the LPGA’s 24 tour stops for 2010—the smallest LPGA tour schedule in years—the LPGA announced the launch of a new tournament, The Mojo 6, to be held April 15-16, 2010 at the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course at Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Although not an official LPGA event, it is sanctioned by the LPGA. Sixteen top players, including Paula Creamer, Christina Kim, and Suzann Pettersen, will compete for a $1 million purse in a new tournament format called Raceway Golf™ (a series of six-hole matches played over two days where eight face elimination at the end of the first day). The event will be aired on CBS.
